Peculiar Gentlemen- Album Review+Performing tonight at Crash Mansion, NY
One Brooklyn based band brings the good shit and get you groovin' and dancin' with its new release "The Difference." This sexy NY sextet, Peculiar Gentlemen bring an album complete with sweet, jump, jive, sing along dance songs with a '60s oldies feel, rap elements, a soul, blues, and even reggae vibe and three female backing vocals for one of the hottest self released efforts I've ever heard. The bass explodes and is some of the hottest I’ve heard.
Tonight, Peculiar Gentlemen perform a nasty set with Badman at Crash Mansion, 199 Bowery, NY, 9pm.
The name of lead vocalist “Sweet” Willy Jive, even gives it away. He gets you moving with his smooth, soulful vocals. Then there’s guitarist e-beats singing and rapping. The three backing vocalists, the PG3s, Leslie, Nailah, and Sara bring their own style and are equally and nicely featured on the album.
Some of the hot tracks are “Nasty,” “Ashamed,” “The Part that I love featuring Badman,” and “Tape Machine.”
“Tape Machine,” starts with some keys and continues jamming to get your head bobbin’, you singin’, and toes tappin’. “Difference,” is more of a rap song with singing and some sweet beats.
Check out these Brooklyn cats! They are rollin' with hot tunes and remind you of the good, old school jams.
