Andrea Gibson to perform at Sidewalk Cafe on Oct. 24

Boulder, Colorado slam poet Andrea Gibson will perform at the Sidewalk Cafe (94 Ave A) with New York based folk, rock, and indie musicians including Master Lee, Howard Katz, The Scamps, and Emily White. Gibson performs typically performs with Chris Pureka on acoustic guitar telling her poems, which touch on topics like gender norms, politics, love, and religion. Gibson became the first poet ever to win the Women of the World Poetry Slam in Detroit in 2008. She has four cds out including her latest release that came out in April called Yellowbird and three books. She is a moving poet and her performances lead to influence.

Andrea will have cd's, books, and posters available. The show at Sidewalk Cafe is free with a two item minimum. Beings at 8pm.
