DOWNLOAD: Apollo Run "Love Song" and "Stars"
Glasslands Gallery is hosting a 50's-style Doo-Wop/Rockabilly part called PROM NIGHT on Saturday, May 8. The night will feature old-school rock 'n roll by Apollo Run, The Rhodes, Cheap Seats, and Sonia's Party. In the spirit of the night is a Prom King and Queen contest, disco balls, bright red party cups, big banners, lights, and kissing booth.
Sound interesting? Never went to your prom? Well here's a chance to go in a rather cool manner. Doors open at 11pm. You can celebrate for only $10. C'mon that's cheaper than my $40 prom. Check out some of the sweet tunes for evening in the Promo Night mixtape:
Here's more on Apollo Run:
Brooklyn indie soul/funk trio Apollo Run is best known for the passionate energy of their live shows--whether it manifests itself in Jeff Kerestes throwing his body into a bass riff, Graham Fisk's enthusiastic command of the drums, or the smile that speads over John McGrew's face as the last nates of the piano fade.
According to Time Out New York: "Apollo Run is a puzzle: Emo Rock? Horn-laden jam? Sweaty gospel pop? But it's all played with impressive assuredness bolstered by John McGrew's Buckley-ite vocal passion."
