Live Review: Against Me! @ The Studio of Webster Hall 6-7-10

Against Me! performed full band acoustic in NYC

Ahead of their tour with Silversun Pickups and a day before the release of their fifth album White Crosses, Against Me! performed a special, semi-secret, full band acoustic show at The Studio of Webster Hall, hosted by 101.9 RXP. Franz Nicolay formerly of The Hold Steady performed accordion and keyboard with the band. They started with "High Pressure Low," then went into "Pints of Guiness Make You Strong" from their 2002 debut album. The rest of the set included a few more new songs and songs from their previous four releases. The audience was singing along and passionate, some even pushing around toward the front. Gabel smiling said they choose to close the bar during their set so fans would remember the set. The Florida based band brought spirited folk-punk sound to this basement for an exclusive performance that warmed my soul. Yeah, it was great. The crowd loved it and so did I. Great first time seeing them. I can only imagine the band amped up.

The band perform electric with Silversun Pickups at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ on June 24 and Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn, NY on June 25.
