Museum Mouth (from NC) playing Brooklyn this Saturday w/ Sleepies

Museum Mouth, a quaint band from South Carolina who take to the fuzzy, punk sound reminiscent of Vivian Girls, Shellshag, P.S. Eliot, and Teenage Cool Kids, keeps it consistent on their new album Tears in My Beer. Of note is the band's name, which comes from a Cap'N Jazz song. They must be stoked the band is reuniting!

This album is about shit going wrong, not giving a shit, and shit going right --not liking certain people ("Jerk Girls"), needing to escape when it gets hard ("Go to the Beach"), and feeling care free ("I Stopped Caring"). There's a youthful vibe to this album. Much like P.S. Eliot's Bike Wreck demo with its both loving and longing feeling.

"Planet Courtney" has that laid back, interesting sort of surf/indie rock vibe about going nowhere and losing nothing. "I really think you could be my guy, sure you tease and you wound me bad, but I'm not that kind of girl who gives you like that." Then there's the cute "Virginia" about wanting to kiss.

Remember, like the band say: when the going gets tough, go to the beach, if you're near one--if not --listen to Museum Mouth!

The trio is doing a small run of dates this week. So far, the band's area show is this Saturday at Party Expo , 929 Broadway, with Sleepies, The Edukators, and Mr. Dream. Show's at 8pm. All Ages. Only $5. Hopefully the band will add a New Jersey date on Friday. Keep posted for details on that. Flyer and music below.

Museum Mouth is Savannah Levin- Vocals, Bass, Graham High- Guitar, and Karl Kuehn- Drums, Vocals.
