Our own
Bern & the Brights have been selected to be featured on the first
College Radio Day compilation. Their song "As Long As I'm Alive" from the forthcoming release
Work will be on the album, alongside the likes of Umphrey's McGee, The Maine and The Front Bottoms. Hundreds of stations around the world will participate in the 2nd annual CRD on Oct. 2nd when both the compilation and B&TB Work will be released. A limited pressing of 1,500 individually numbered, double-disc CDs are now available for pre-order. Proceeds benefit The College Radio Defense Fund. From College Radio Day:
"After an extensive national search featuring a judging panel with radio broadcasting students from across the country, we are PROUD to announce our inaugural ‘College Radio Day Album’. Many bands started by being played on college radio, and college radio continues to give many artists today their first break. This album will feature familiar and new artists that play great music and also support the mission of college radio.
Proceeds from the sale of this album will go directly to a NEW non-profit fund for college and high school radio stations called the College Radio Defense Fund (more on this shortly). This fund will help stations survive in a difficult economic time when some stations are being sold off or shut down but will primarily help promote stations by helping to fund events and helping buy new on-air equipment.
This unprecedented charity album will also raise crucial funds to help promote and protect college and high school radio stations. The album will be released everywhere digitally (iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon etc) on October 2nd (College Radio Day) but we have decided to release a strictly limited edition double CD (individually numbered) also.
Most of the tracks on the album are unreleased and therefore very special. Side A features the best music performances in college radio stations across the USA (congratulations to those stations who submitted and were selected) and Side B features many unreleased rarities from known artists who are publically standing with college radio.

Last year was the first ever College Radio Day – bringing together over 360 college radio stations in North America for the first time to celebrate the importance of college radio. It was a huge success. This year, for College Radio Day on October 2, we are already nearly at 500 stations in 16 countries who are coming together to celebrate on this important day. This scale of collaboration is truly unprecedented.
Please help support college and high school radio stations by ordering this very special limited edition CD. Once the 1,500 have gone – they are gone. Price is $15.99 plus shipping. The album will ship in early October.
The Syndicate will be servicing this album as we get closer to October 2nd.
