Holy Hail, The Dying (After) Party
Brooklyn, NY
PseudoScience
Release Date 4/13
For fans of: indie, dance rock, electro
On the Dying (After) Party Holy Hail mixes pop, new wave, electro, and experimental sounds to create a sexy sounding dance EP with an '80s flair added in. The vocals switch between keyboardist Kevin and Cat. The music is driven by a thumping bass line and drums. This release features 7 songs plus a remix of "Antioch."
The opening track "Riverine" is the EP's longest clocking in at close to six minutes. The song's driving beats, jammy, and then slowed down rhythms gives this one a nice touch. “Days of Metro” is one of the strongest on the release. Cat starts off singing, but both Kevin and her sing together. "Painted Bird" is also a good one. The band cites Nas, The Fall, and Gang of Four among their influences. Pretty interesting, eh? Take a listen.
The new EP is available on limited edition 12'' vinyl featuring 7 new tracks plus a remix by Jam Station. More info available here.
Holy Hail is Cat Hartwell on vocals and guitar, Kevin Cooke on vocals and keys,
Jesse Sposato on drums, and Mike Egan on guitars.
