For fans of: Fleetwood Mac, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, folk, country

Anna Rose's music-- as pretty as her name? Indeed. Rose's music has a mature sound with soothing vocals reminiscent of  90s singer-songwriter icon Sarah McLachlan and a young, smart sounding Jewel. Nomad has folk, rock, and blues influences. Anna plays piano and guitar on the album's 12 tracks. The '90s nostalgia I get from listening to the album reminds me of how good that decade was.

"Picture" is a reflective look at life and considering what you want. "Open your eyes, see it for what it is, because you just see the image," Rose sings. She uses imagery to pull the listener in and the guitar riffs in the middle of the song contrast nicely with the lighter tones of the song.

The album really seems to show Anna exploring and observing things on her road in life. Her voice shifts from a sweet vocal ("In The Morning") to a Regina Spektor styled voice ("Whispers") to soulful one ("I'll Be Gone").

Then there's "Gillian," one of the loveliest songs I've heard in a while. "But I smile all the way, Gillian." The way Rose holds the note on "way" is great. "I'll be Gone" is a twangy, Americana or bluegrass type of song.

Overall, she delivers a consistent album that makes you think. You can easily kick back to this one while sitting on your living room couch or go to a cozy lounge and hear the tunes live, enjoying every syllable she sings and every note she plays.
