New Haven, CT's Talking to Walls brings a dashing, pleasant rock sound on their latest album, We Were Not So Tall. The band's influences include Death Cab for Cutie, U2, Foo Fighters, and Coheed and Cambria. They'll perform at Bowery Poetry Club in NYC on Friday, May 28. Also performing is Abe Marder and Grow. Talking to Walls is on at 10:45pm.
When faced with the daunting task of recording a sophomore record, the New Haven quartet looked to producer Greg Giorgio (Interpol, The National, Mates of State and Tokyo Police Club) to stake out some new territory. The result? 12 rock and roll stories, filled to the brim with guitar soundscapes, tight harmonies, and atmospheric headphone treats.
