Land of Talk from Montreal (new single, new album, and tour dates)

Montreal's Land of Talk join the indie realm of light rock and melody that's nice, like the warm days of summer. The guitar keeps strumming and aching along with a swirling commotion of urgency, the words barely escaping into the last minute and a half. Because in those last moments the bits of the first part have finally settled in and there's no need for words with Elizabeth Powell's soft vocals edging close to a hearache. This is apparent on the band's new single, "Swift Coin." The guitar tickles you, and so does the song it's that kind of feeling. The song is from the band's new album Cloak and Cipher.out Aug. 24th on Saddle Creek Records. Here are some details on the release:

Produced by Jace Lasek of Besnard Lakes and Land of Talk and lead by mastermind songwriter and vocalist Elizabeth Powell, Cloak and Cipher includes contributions of special guests drawn from the Montreal music scene and beyond including Jeremy Gara of Arcade Fire and Patrick Watson as well as members of Stars, Wintersleep and Besnard Lakes.
