Live Review: Museum Mouth, Sleepies, and others @ Party Expo 7-10-10 (photos)

Party Expo seemed like the kind of place that would be good for a show, but the the lack of organization, unsafe objects all around, and restrooms whose doors wouldn't close and had no toilet tissue in, made the show lack. Thankfully some great bands were performing with a pretty decent PA system, so all was not lost. Two shows were happening this evening--the one on the first floor was Sleepies, Museum Mouth, and Mr. Dream, the one on the second floor was Brick and Mortar, Uzuhi, and Communipaw. I bounced around from one floor to another trying to catch everyone.

Museum Mouth played their first show of their first tour ever this evening. Their 15-minute long set went by quickly but it wasn't without flavor. Thanks for the sticker and button! Sleepies had a driving punk sound that's even better live than on record. Uzuhi had amazing energy and infectious keyboards with some sweet guitar licks that made everyone smile. Brick and Mortar had some awesome reggae-rock groove going on. Sadly I had to miss Communipaw and Mr. Dream. Overall, despite the unattractive venue, the shows turned out pretty nicely.

  1. We have clean restrooms with fresh toilet paper now. And there are no sharp dangerous objects laying around anymore. ;) Come enjoy a show at PARTY XPO (the new name has no "e" on xpo) soon. Visit our site to see the schedule. www.partyxpobrooklyn.com
