Album Review: Young Mammals keep it interesting on indie-rocker 'Carrots'

Young MammalsCarrots

Self Released
Released June, 22, 2010

For fans of: Animal Collective, Flaming Lips, Broken Social Scene, Sunset Rubdown

Young Mammals take the explosive indie rock world by storm with their latest release, Carrots. The band are charged and ready to delight with an album that connects every part of your body to the compelling sounds. The band throws everything together, but not in a messy fashion, in a way that's freshing for the new era of indie rock. I like the experiment/psych sound of the band- it's dynamic, different, interesting, yet still listenable.Carrots sounds like the soundtrack for life if life was only about kissing, holding hands, and partying.

Young Mammals are brothers Jose (bass) and Carlos Sanchez (guitar/vocals), Cley Miller (guitar), and Ryan Chavez (drums).

Carrots is the debut album from Young Mammals of Houston, self-released on CD, cassette, and digitally.
