Holding it down for shows in and around Essex County is local promoter Terrance Pryor who has been putting on shows since 2007. He puts on all ages show, where he doesn't make bands sell tickets, at The Meatlocker in Montclair, Gardensk8 in Pine Brook, and currently the MMAC in Bloomfield, where he presents his next two shows.

This Sunday it's sure to be a good afternoon of rock music with Of Fate and Chance, Exit She Calls, Control, and many more. This is the show to be at for any screamo, post-hardcore, pop/rock and alternative rock fans.

The Sleeping, Lady Radiator, and others perform in Newark this Friday

The Sleeping already played a basement show in New Brunswick and Hangar 84 in Vineland this month alone. Now these Long Island guys return to NJ for a third time to play a show in Newark this Friday, where they will set it off with The Waking Alley, Lady Radiator, Hollywood Kills, The Pretty Pleas, and Izzy Grimey. The show is $5 and all profits are donated to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention in the name of Victor Cruz. Doors open at 5pm.

Screaming Females headline Don Giovanni Records Showcase, Saturday in Hoboken

This Saturday, Feb. 7 is the 2nd Annual Don Giovanni Records showcase at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, featuring Screaming Females, For Science, The Steinways, Cheeky, The Groucho Marxists, Pregnant, The Measure (SA).

The label recently signed Brooklyn brat punks, Cheeky, New Brunswick's post-punk masters, Screaming Females, post-punk ragers Pregnant, and pop punk commandants The Groucho Marxists. Pregnant will release its debut 7" Wanna See My Gun?, while New Brunswick's Groucho Marxists make their mark with debut LP Manifesto!, a collection of straightforward punk rock anthems, new wave infused rock, and kick ass ballads.

Additionally, it’ll be For Science and The Steinways last shows. The Ergs! That's It… Bye- a three song 12" single regaling love lost, love won, and paleontology gone wrong will be available. The 12" single features artwork by online comic artist Mitch Clem, who is currently moonlighting as the artist for Suburban Home's Under the Influence collection. Though the band has called it quits, they'll forever live on with those who loved them best.

The Measure (SA)’s 12" EP Songs About People…And Fruit N' Shit is being re-released on green vinyl, as the original pressing sold out within a few short months.

Kiss Kiss to headline Eyeball Records Show this Wednesday in Hoboken, NJ

This Wednesday, Dec. 17th Kiss Kiss, The Bronze Episode, Sleep Station, and The Casting Out will play the Eyeball Records Holiday Showcase at Maxwell's in Hoboken. Doors are at 8p.m. All Ages. $8 at the door.

Kiss Kiss will release its second full length "The Meek Shall Inherit What's Left" in Feb. 2009. It will feature 11 songs.

The circus-punk 5-piece have three shows lined up after that.

The Syndicate Party

The Syndicate hosted its 10th Conflict of Interest Party, tonight (10/20) at Rebel in NYC. With three floors, free vitamin water and goody bags, dancing on two levels, and Margot & The Nuclear So and So's, Rival Schools, and ...Trail of Dead, the night would prove to be fun and exciting.

This was an exclusive event tailored to music industry folks, i.e. friends of the Syndicate and various bands. It was a great pre-CMJ treat that left me in anticipation for what's to come this week.
